[RESOLVED] Update Query problem with on page load datatable and dataadapater

Hi Guys,

Working on an asp.net project using VB.NET

On my page I have a set of textboxes which displays DB stored information relevant to the logged in user.  This is displayed on page load.  The extracted information is stored in a datatable then populates the relevant textboxes

I have a button that once clicked, lets the user update changes made to the values in the textboxes

However, this update does not work.  On the update button click the textbox values just revert back to the old values and no changes are even written to the database.

When I comment out the code on page load that fills the textboxes however, the update then works.

Any ideas on getting round this problem to let the update work with the on load code present would be great.

cheers

hi...please put ur code for load data to textboxes with in below code beacuse every time when button click or any events fire the page will reload

Protected Sub Page_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load
if not IsPostBack then
'call ur code for load data to textboxes
end if
    End Sub

then u can call ur function in update button click....

Page load code will run whenever a button will be clicked, so you can try pasting all the code that is in Page_Load event

inside the condition like:

If !Page.IsPostBack Then
//Your Code Here
End If

Thankyou Usman, This solved the problem!

[RESOLVED] Is there any rules to add the iTextXharp.dll in bin folder

Is there any rules to add the iTextXharp.dll in bin folder?

bcoz, I have add that dll in references folder.

It's better to add all your DLLs in a different folder (Say DLLs) in your project and add references from this folder, so remove the current reference, add the Folder, put iTextXharp.dll in the new folder and finally reference to this dll again.

Also bin folder contains all dlls of this project and related reference, and if you pressed clear solution Visual Studio will remove all contents of this "bin" folder, so it's not safe to keep your original DLLs in this folder.

I dont think so you have any rules...

Thanks,

If you deploy/copy an application that contains a reference to a custom component that is registered in the GAC, the component will not be deployed/copied with the application, regardless of the Copy Local setting.

Hi,

You code has on something wrong, you can check other reason that cause the problelm.

You can get the image url of html page, and paste it to to browser address to see whether it works.

And check other software prevent you download the image like the virus scanner and others.
