I'm working with the MembershipProvider in a new site and despite the docs stating that the first time a user is created that the user database file will be created automatically, it blew up.
Having said that, I do not need to rely on SQL Server Express, the server in question has a full version that I am happy (and prefer) to use.
I've change the connection string to point to my SQL Server, but now the create user process errors that it can't find a stored procedure it needs.
I'm looking for documentation on how to create this database with the tables , SPs and other things it needs to function.
I've found a walkthrough entitled "Creating a website with Membership and Login", looks promising.
Even better, one of the sections is entitled "Configuring Membership", unfortunately, the first step, "On the Website menu, click ASP.NET Configuration" is a problem.
The Website menu, at least in VS 2010 Ultimate, has a Website menu, but there is not option on it entitled "ASP.NET Configuration".
Am I looking in the wrong place?
What do you mean by "it blew up"? Error message would be helpful.
